BUNKS

Bunks are tiny pieces of nonsense performed by Changelings to help fuel 
the Arts.  Basically, because the Arts are so chaotic, by fussing with the 
"pathetic, weak, X = X reality!" as a nocker might say, a Changeling 
loosens up the bonds of the mundane world and allows the energies of the 
Dreaming to flow freer.  The reason that Bunks shrink in power the more 
you use them is because the more you use them, the more like a "rational" 
system of cause and effect you are promoting. 

A lot of Arts used in succession will make Bunks more powerful, as reality 
is basically rattled and shaken to bits and the Dreaming pours in to play.  
Legends of wizards' duels that tear gaping holes in reality have never 
been confirmed (but all legends are true, somehow.)

You'll note that a lot of these Bunks require the use of unusual items.  
This is why Changelings who work a lot of Arts tend to have pockets filled 
with junk - receipts from restaurants that have closed, broken pieces of 
chalk, other people's wills-and-testaments, all kinds of bizarre things.  
But note that the extra bizarreness provided from using an unusual item 
only lasts for one Bunk.  After that time, it's just like any other common 
prop.

Here are some examples of Bunks and sample strengths and things they might 
be used for:

Saying a rhyme backwards. For a two-line couplet, this is Bunk level 1.  
For a two-line couplet you made up yourself, right then, Bunk level 2.  
For a fourteen line sonnet, Bunk level 3.  And so on.  Note that to get 
the rhyme right for any but the simplest versions, you'll have to make an 
Intelligence + Performance check!  This Bunk is especially appropriate for 
Chicanery, the Actor Realm, and parts of the Fae realm.

Drawing an ornate door in multicolored chalk: For the simplest of doors, 
this is a Bunk level 2.  For exceptional drawings, this is a Bunk level 3 
or even 4!  Note that to get it "just right", you'll have to make an 
extended Intelligence + Crafts check.  This Bunk is especially appropriate 
for Wayfare and the Scene Realm.

Laying out a full Tarot spread:  A level 2 Bunk for most "ordinary" 
spreads.  (Great big detailed spreads may increase this!) No roll is 
generally needed, just basic knowledge of the Tarot (or an instruction 
book that doesn't take all the fun out of it.)  This Bunk is especially 
appropriate for Soothsay.

inside out - Wearing all your clothes inside out and your underwear on the 
outside - laying a cobweb across a book and underlining the words the 
strands lay across - jumping off a three story building without being 
harmed - drawing a sigil on parchment with your own blood - throwing a 
balloon filled with used motor oil - building a snowman with the features 
of the subject - burning a hair of the subject in a candle made from green 
Crayolas - tasting the saliva of the target - opening a fresh glass bottle 
of grape Nehi - and so on - and so on - and so on.
