LA Miscellany

Who is this woman? Why is she so angry? What does this have to do with anything? Nobody knows but me, and I ain't telling.
The Annunciation. Shuddup, I dunno, I like the 'angels' imagery.
Jeez, what happened to her?
Maybe I'm sorry I asked.
Sometimes a few words are worth a thousand pictures.
He shoots! He scores!

The Watts Towers were constructed by Simon Rodia. For his trouble, he got put on the "Sergeant Pepper's" album cover (he's in the far upper right, peeking out sideways.) The Towers are 99 feet 6 inches tall, and in 1964, withstood 100,000 pounds of pressure in an attempt to pull them down. They are made from scrap metal, bits of glass and seashells, brick, ceramic, tile, and wood.
Generally, the Watts Towers are considered one of the most bizarre, flamboyant and important pieces of 'naive art' in the world. Nobody knew why Rodia built them: he often professed not to know himself. Kindred may find it suggestive that Twilight uses Watts towers as one of her chief Elysia.

Then again, they may not. How should I know?

Music for the game

I have used the following tunes for the game's background noise when we play: all of Enya's albums (which made up the majority of "LA Story"'s soundtrack), the "Far Away So Close" soundtrack, Bach's first 3 Brandenburg Concertos, They Might Be Giants' "Apollo 18", Jewel's "Save The Linoleum", Jane Siberry's self-titled album and "When I Was A Boy", and "LA Hardcore Volume 1", which has quite possibly the funniest samples of any techno album I have ever heard.
