Editor's Column and Locations

Okay, from what I heard at the last WLA, there are some things we really need to work on within the administrative end of the game, mostly concerning game sites. If you have any suggestions, please let the ST's know.

The last game only had about 16 people, whether this is due to the holiday season, or poor communication, I don't know, but if you have any ideas, tell me. Even with the lack of people, apparently they all had a great time, which is always good to hear. I'd like to say farewell to Brandon who will be leaving us soon to pursue a career in writing. Later in this issue, you will see a article titled "Words from the new Editor". This will now be an IC column written by my new character, who will actually be the IC publisher of the newsletter. Ok, enough sappy comments from the peanut-gallery, let's see what's up, eh?

*Jan. 19th '99 1st monthly game of the new year! This one will be held at Dan and Wendy's place! Dan says that there will be munchies and other stuff provided, and not to worry about paying the monthly game fee, but I would suggest you "make a donation", to continue covering costs of newsletter publication. Stamps are nice, but money is always better. Here's the directions to the place- Get to the intersection of Grant and Country Club. Go South on Country Club. Take Country Club down to the last street before Speedway, which is Bellvue Ave. Go East on Bellvue, across Camilla. Their house will be on the South side of the street, and is next to the last house before Howard. The address is 3252. If you get lost, or want to arrive early, call them at 319-8655. Locations

As some of you may have noticed, we are at a lack of different locations to use for the game. At least 6 of the last 12 games (including the Big Game we did in September) of the year, have all been at Ben's. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, since his place is big enough to accommodate us all, and since he has graciously offered his place as the "default location" each month if a different location isn't offered, but personally speaking, it seems like the LARP is beginning to take advantage of this, rather than use it as a "back-up location" if nothing else can be found.

To be frank, we can all be alittle more helpful finding other spots to play at. If you live in an Apartment Complex that has a Rec Room, do us a favor and find out what the details are using it (i.e. deposit, opening and closing times, et). If you live in a house (which is always ideal for games), find out if it's possible to hold games there with the other occupants. We realize that we may not be able to use them all the time, but it would be helpful to be able to use it at least once, if possible.

There are lots of benefits to hosting a game, that you all may not be aware of. Here's some ..

	1) You don't have to drive to the game.
	2) You don't have to pay the monthly game fee for the game you
host.
	3) Each occurrence is counted as "service to the organization"
(which is one of the categories that "Admin" uses when deciding Gen drops!).
	4) You become more involved, not only as a player, but sometimes
as a character as well (if the location is used ICly as something your
character owns or is connected to).
What's the downside you ask?
	1) You may need to do some cleaning that you've been putting off.

	2) You may have some cleaning to do afterwards, but usually people
stay after to help with this.
Basically, a good LARP game site, should be able to host a party of between 20-40 people, have restroom facilities, and the ability to keep people warmer (or cooler depending on the weather) than being outside.
Take me back to the newsletter page.

Take me back to the Old Pueblo By Night Page.
