Editor's Column Well, as impossible as it may be, I am back to doing the newsletter again! Actually, I'm happy to do something productive within the group other than the occasional rules question. Stuff you'll see in this month's issue a charming comment from Ares' former wife Lia, a blast from the past, the game schedule, a rant by the Reverend Lee, and a list of who does what within the OP-LARP organization. Just a quick note though, Meesh (our Treasurer and Ambiance person) needs more stuff for the "ambiance box". If you have stuff to donate (art, candles, whatever), please get with her either at the game, or you can email her at meesh@primenet.com.
Also, I have what I believe to be an updated address and phone list, so please see me at the next game, and verify that the information I have for you is correct. Also, any articles or pictures that you would like to submit, need to be to me by the 2nd Friday following the game (or 1 week and 2 days after the WLA). OK, saddle up, 'cuz here we go!!!

The Admin Staff takes care of Gen Drops, Rule problems, and the "outside" running of the game. The Narrorators are simply combat judges. If an ST is not available to oversee a "test", and you want someone that knows the rules to watch, you can get a narrorator. The narrorators have no ST information, so if you have a question about what your character might know, or want to use influences.. you'll still need to go talk to an ST. - ed.
Wendy has moved to the City of the Flaming Chicken, and it is time once again for a StoryTeller change. Joseph will continue with Kim and Scott adding their own slant on the Jihad and LARPing. Our goal, the same as every other StoryTeller, is to create a fun game. Most of the fun is based on player actions and interactions, the only thing we control are plots. We will be more active and involve everyone in plots, unless you are just not interested- then tell us in your results and we'll leave you alone.
We are once again trying to create a method to organize character statistics and items, this should be ready for initial review by next month. This month you need to write in your eventsheets any items (weapons, valuables, or other special items) you own. Speaking of results, Joseph will be changing the WebPage result sheet each month, that way we will receive better feedback on specific topics of interest for greater blood consumer satisfaction. Vampire Marketing- Ventrue or Malkavian?
If you can't get to the Web-site, don't worry, we will still be handing our eventsheets after every game, and any results turned in will be accepted as long as it has your name, the event (location and date), and a short comment about the game (OOC).
We expect the next 5 months to be just as exciting as the past 5 years have been. Here's our advice: Get involved! Organize small games, lie, cheat, collude, maneuver, swindle, bluster, scheme, pretend, manipulate, and create!!
Most of all- HAVE FUN !!!!
IC info is described as information which the character gains either through their results, or through IC conversations with other people. These IC conversations can be done in person, or over the telephone/internet, as long as all parties involved understand that they are speaking "in character". If using the internet, we ask the you identify that the post is IC by writing this in the "subject" line of the message, or by writing IC in parenthesis in the body of your posting, before writing any actual IC comments.
OOC info is the info that a player knows, but that his/her character may not. This usually comes about when overhearing someone talk about something that happened after they have decided to stop playing, but are still within in IC area. If you are not certain whether someone is IC or OOC while playing, please ask them before doing anything IC yourself (such as eavesdropping). To avoid miscommunication, and the spreading of OOC info, please observe the following rules:
1) When you are done playing, proceed to a designated OOC area. If you see other people come into the room (and you are using an area that not designated as IC or OOC), let them know that you are Out-Of-Character. If they want to be OOC as well, then you're O.K.. If they want to continue to play, then they will know that you are OOC, and will leave.
2) Try not to talk about "delicate" subjects while at a game OOC. Alot of times, someone may overhear a conversation that they believe is IC, when in reality the people talking are OOC. If you follow rule #1, then you should be O.K., but to insure that any "surprises" or "privileged information" doesn't "leak out", you may want to hold any OOC discussions on the matter for another time.
3) Always ask a Story-Teller, when you have a question about the validity of information from an NPC, or other character. Sometimes, someone may give you false information, or what we call "a red herring", as IC information. As Wendy stated in her article last month, Vampires lie! Not all the time, but when it suits their needs, they will. Not only do they lie, but the "bluff" really well too. Someone may make you believe that they know something, and use the information you tell them, to make you think that they know more than you do.
To avoid using or getting OOC information, use these simple rules. I cannot emphasize enough, that you should go to a StoryTeller, whenever you have a question about the source of your info. Results are always IC information, but they may not have correct information in them. Conversations are the same, but you have to make sure that all parties involved understand that the conversation being held, is an IC conversation. Follow this, and things will be much easier- not only on yourself but for your StoryTeller staff as well.
