Diana Diana is a tall, attractive woman in the prime of young adulthood. Her raven-black hair hangs down to her mid-back in shimmering waves. Her sky-blue eyes are wide and filled with innocence and the inner strength of conviction. Her face is oval, wi th tanned, unblemished skin and an omnipresent smile. Her body is nearing six feet, and is tanned from hours under the sun. Her every step and motion is an unconscious exhibition of her grace and innate power. Diana is wearing a her Amazonian battle armor. A suit of armor of red with a embossed set of golden W's rest across her chest. Her golden girlde is at her waist, below which is a metal skirt of long, thin plates. On her feet are red boots, lined a t the top with white, with a matching stripe down the middle of each boot. A battlehelm rest upon her head, with a mask to guard her eyes, under which her long hair falls. A huge battle axe of red, with golden W's matching her armor on its blade, rests li ghtly in her hand. A set of javelns rests in a quiver on her back. On her hip is her Lasso of Truth. Martian Manhunter This green figure looks like a man, but only in the most general sense. His features are not so much indistinct as they are non-detailed. His brow is prominent, extending out making his eyes appear deep. The rest of his face features smooth contou rs, actually giving it something of what might be considered a handsome look, lacking any imperfections. In an uncanny way, it almost seems to lack the rich aspects, the flaws and imperfections, that make one face distinct from another. His almost perfect ly rounded head lacks any hair. The scalp does not have the contour of a bald head, but instead looks as if it is not made to ever hold any hair. He is well built, his body bearing all the curves of a well-cut, muscular individual. A defined chest is crossed by two diagonal straps of a red material, and a belt of the same runs around his waist, bearing a yellow circle in its center. An oddl y cut blue item covers his lower body, revealing his entire legs up to his thighs. His feet are covered by a pair of blue boots, a tight fit but bent over from the top, something like an old swashbuckler's might be. Flowing behind his form is a long blue cape, fastened at his shoulders to a red collar that seems as if it might attach to the red cross. The receptionist doesn't seem nonplussed at all by the strange appearance of the visitors: perhaps they get strange-looking visitors all the time. She makes a few masterful shuffles of appointments and sends the pair right in. Harold rises and smiles winn ingly at them. "Hello." he says, cheerfully. Harold(#1120Pfces) This is a man in his late forties or early fifties, as can be seen in the faint lines on his face and the grey that extends upwards from his temples, but little other indication elsewhere. He is fit and athletic-looking, and his suit is a well-tailored se date dark blue with a black silk tie. Rimless glasses with gold frames rest on his nose, and his eyes are a clear and mild green. His voice is equally mild and clear, rolling and infinitely expressive and rich. When he speaks, his hands emphasize and arti culate his meaning clearly, and his whole manner, casual and nonchalant, does little to disguise the charisma that seems to draw attention to him. Wonder Woman smiles pleasantly. "Good evening, Mister Dayton. Thank you for making time for us." She looks to J'onn. "I do not know if you have met, but this is the Martian Manhunter." She turns back to Harold. "And this is Mister Dayton, our League attor ney and liaison." Harold nods. "We met briefly." he says, "How are you, sir?" Martian Manhunter nods slowly as he regards Harold, glancing about the place for a moment. He looks back to the attorney. "I am fine. It is a pleasure to remake your acquaintance." Harold gestures at the seats on the other side of the desk. "What can I do for you this afternoon?" he says. There is not the faintest impression that you have anything less than his full attention. Martian Manhunter moves over as indicated, looking to Wonder Woman as he takes a seat. Wonder Woman circles to the proffered chair and sits down. She crosses her legs, leaning forward slightly to let her hair fall down over the back of the chair. "I thought we might discuss some items having to do with the League about which we were curious , if you have time." Harold nods. "Certainly, certainly." He settles down gracefully in his chair. "What can I help you with?" Wonder Woman says "There has recently been a vote of the members of the League, and I will be the leader." :gestures with an open hand to the Martian next to her. "The Manhunter will be deputy leader. Firstly, we wished to inform you of the group's decisi on, and discuss any possible ramifications." Martian Manhunter simply sits there quietly, listening to the discourse. Harold nods slightly. "I had received Scott's memorandum, and this news does not come unanticipated, but I do appreciate it. As for ramifications...I can certainly give you some updated information on the League's legal status, though I'm sure you have so me issues you specifically wanted to look at..." Wonder Woman nods and smiles politely. "Yes, there are a couple of items, such as legal status, police powers, and so on. Scott has been terribly distracted with his impending fatherhood, and I am reluctant to intrude upon him for these answers when he ha s enought to concern him at present." Martian Manhunter regards Harold intently as he listens for the answers to the questions, remaining for the most part merely silent and studious. Harold nods, smiling at the mention of Scott. "All right..." He gathers his thoughts for a moment. "As you recall, we were discussing the proper governing body to grant the League's polica powers. Each one has it's advantages and disadvantages...absent a stated preference to the contrary, I've been working on the United Nations, as the last incarnation of the League. This does not mean it is too late to change our minds, though, by any stretch of the imagination." Wonder Woman nods thoughtfully. "May we get jurisdiction from more than one source? Perhaps police powers from the United Nations, as well as the United States?" Harold nods. "Certainly: I believe this was the purpose in administratively separating the Justice League of America from Justice League International, originally. In that case, we should obtain UN approval first, which will virtually guarantee Justice... er...the Justice Department's approval." Wonder Woman says "What is our current legal jurisdiction? Does the League current have any police powers at all?" Martian Manhunter does not lean back in the seat, or fidge in any way. He simply sits and watches Harold, listening to the speach stonily. Harold shakes his head. "Currently, the League exists in the same proto-legal limbo that it did before formal UN sanction so many years ago: since the UN withdrew funding after the breakup, we would be hard pressed to defend any action whatsoever in court . We are, in short, firmly in the nod-and-wink-and-look-the-other-way category of law enforcement now. But re-approval is, I think, only a few short steps away at the UN, should we choose to take them." Wonder Woman nods with a disapproving look, which is basically the absence of her smile. "I would say we take them." She turns to J'onn. "What do you see of this, my friend?" Harold nods, businesslike, turning to the Manhunter with Diana's gaze. Martian Manhunter nods slowly, regarding Wonder Woman. "Authorization is invaluable. We have no need of financial resources on the scale we formerly had. If we can get an agency to sponsor us without the demand of funding, it should be simple enough.? Harold nods. "The fact that the League was able to get the old base running again on it's own is a large advantage in my proposal." Wonder Woman nods thoughtfully again, her curls sliding over the back of the chair. "That seems most wise. I would not wish the League dependent on anyone," she says, as a mental image of Maxwell Lord pops into her mind. Martian Manhunter nods slowly to Wonder Woman. "He was useful at a time, but for his ends, not ours." He turns back to regard Harold. Harold murmurs gently, "The League will always be dependent on some_thing_." Businesslike again, he says "All right, then here is what I need in order to make things happen at the UN. First of all, I need a League to sell. I need the names of the people involved, and if we don't have a file on them, I'll need them to come in and get one put together." Wonder Woman turns back to Harold as well. "What information would you want for these files? As you know, many of our members are quite protective of their other identities, and perhaps wisely so. For myself, I have few here that need to be protected in s uch a way, but many of the others do." Harold nods slightly. "We've always allowed so-called 'secret identities' to remain unknown to the staff: it seems safest, for security reasons. On top of that, anything in our files is protected by attorney-client privilege. What I need is essentially ba ckground: a resume, if you will. Accomplishments I can tout: possible problems I should be aware of. The League's first legal incarnation was built almost solely on it's reputation, and little has changed since then." Wonder Woman nods again, as each member runs through her mind. "I cannot see any of our member being the cause of any difficulties regarding past actions. I think the highest of each." Harold smiles. "I do as well. This is no accident, I think." Wonder Woman clasps her hands together in her lap. "The League in its current form was gathered by Mister Miracle, but I would gladly have any of the members at my side without any concern. I will speak to them about this file you need. Would you prefer to have them come here, or is there some form you wish to have filled out?" Martian Manhunter continues as before, to simply listen, and not comment. Harold shakes his head slightly. "I don't think that will be necessary...have all of the members been in the League before? I'm afraid Scott didn't send me an updated list for a little while..." Wonder Woman looks out the windows at the scenic view as she goes through the membership in her head. "I am not entirely sure. I believe Supergirl and Zatanna may be new to the League." She turn to J'onn. "You may know more than I, my friend, on this topi c." Martian Manhunter raises an eyebrow slightly at Wonder Woman. "You have been with this new League longer. I have not yet met all of the new members." Harold nods. "In any case, I'd like to speak with the new members personally...I've met Supergirl briefly before, and seen Zatanna perform, and I'm sure we have files on both, but as I say, I want to have all the bases covered." Wonder Woman smiles and nods. "Perhaps between us we will find the answer." She turns back to Harold. "I believe only those two. The remainder, Aquaman, Beetle, Mister Miracle, and ourselves have been in the League before. Your caution is perfectly unders tandable, Mister Dayton." Harold grins. "Certainly...and that list comprises the entire new League, you say?" He makes a note of the names with a jet-black fountain pen on a conveniently-placed pad. Wonder Woman says "And Flash as well, that is the entire roster at present." Wonder Woman looks to J'onn once more. "Is there anything you were wishing to add? I did not mean to dominate the conversation." Harold nods. "And the Flash, of course." He writes the name down. "So we are resolved to move ahead with the UN. I will keep the League informed via secure memorandum of my progress as usual...is there anything further?" Martian Manhunter shakes his head towards Wonder Woman. "You are the leader, this is a conversation for the leader. You have done a fine job." Wonder Woman smiles appreciatively. "Thank you, my friend." She turns back to Harold a last time. "Then I believe we are finished for this day, Mister Dayton. Thank you for your time," she says as she rises from the chair. Martian Manhunter rises as well, nodding towards Harold. "Indeed. Thank you, sir, for your assistance." Harold nods. "Certainly." He rises. "Thank you both for coming by." On your way out, you're not sure, but you think you pass a former FBI Director going in. Wonder Woman smiles once more, then turns and makes her way out. Wonder Woman steps out.
