Bellewether Federal Correctional Institution
SHELLSHOCK SECURITY PROCEDURE
READ
THESE INSTRUCTIONS THROUGH BEFORE BEGINNING THE PROCEDURE!
EXPENSIVE AND POTENTIALLY LETHAL
ENERGIES AND SUBSTANCES ARE USED THROUGHOUT THE PROCEDURE.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE EXACTLY, IN ADDITION TO ALL
ILLUMINATED SIGNS, PLACARDS, AND SUPERIOR OFFICER INSTRUCTIONS WILL
RESULT IN SEVERE DISCIPLINARY ACTION AS WELL AS REAL RISK OF
INJURY OR DEATH! THE GASES AND RADIATION USED IN THE CASK ARE DEADLY, EVEN TO METAHUMANS AND HUMANS
ALIKE.
1. As soon as notice is given
that either entity is inbound for voluntary securing, the following
operations must occur while the guest is inbound:
- Exercise yard times must be
canceled.
- Cellblocks M, X, and Z must be
locked down.
- Guards on perimeter with lethal
weapons should switch from A to B magazines in their weapon. This
includes artillery pieces and squad support munitions.
- Generators 2 and 5 should be
warmed, primed and started according to posted placards in the
powerhouse.

2. When the guest is delivered, it may be ambulatory or subdued. If
subdued, DO NOT TOUCH THE GUEST. DO NOT
DISCHARGE A FIREARM UNLESS LOSS OF LIFE IS EMINENT! SHOOTING THE
CREATURE-ENTITY CAN CAUSE IT TO INCREASE IN FEROCITY AND DANGER!
3. Load the entity into the containment cask via the tungsten backplate
press using the joystick marked, "Maneuvering A-frame B." Keep clear of
the yellow taped areas on the floor. Entering these areas can cause
irreparable damage to the 100-ton A-frame. Damages will be docked from your
future pay!
4. When the guest is loaded on the tungsten plate, engage the
forward slide ram by applying a steady forward pressure on the lever
marked "FORWARD RAM PRES." When the green lamp above the lever is
illuminated, the plate is fully under the containment cask. DO NOT MOVE ON
TO STEP 5 UNLESS THE GREEN LAMP IS ILLUMINATED!!!! IF YOU CANNOT GET
THE TUNGSTEN PLATE IN POSITION PUSH THE RED 'TROUBLE BUTTON'
IMMEDIATELY!!!!
5. Using the control panel hanging next to the containment
machinery console, lower the cask in place by pushing the 'DOWN'
button. The cask moves slowly due to its mass. Allow several seconds
between each change in direction to allow the cask to stop swinging on
the crane arm before continuing to lower the cask. Lowering the cask
too
quickly
can impact the
knife-edge seals on the bottom plate and keep from making a good seal.
Leave a few inches of slack in the titanium cable that suspends the
cask.
6. Push the black button marked 'Gas test.' Wait at least 5 seconds
before looking at the gage above the button marked 'Cask delta-P.' If
the gage reads in the green region, continue to step 7 below. If not,
repeat steps 4 and above until it does.
7. Open both valves to the orichalcum gas bottles on either side of the
cask. If time is critical get a friend to help. Open the valves all the
way counter-clockwise looking down at the valves. ORICHALCUM GAS IS
EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. IF A PROPER SEAL HAS NOT BEEN ATTAINED ABOVE AND
GAS IS WASTED YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE WASTED GAS!
8. Slowly turn the voltage to the supplementary drainer grid on until
it reaches 4500 volts. Watch the frequency meter.
It is very important to stay in the green zone. Straying above into the
red zone can cause dangerous radiation.
9. If the subject is still anxious, emergency gases can be introduced
into the cask. If no change in condition is seen,
immediately call for Hyperscientific Services at Extension 213.
REMEMBER
THAT THE MAN IS NOT A CRIMINAL!
REMEMBER,
IF AT ANY POINT SOMETHING IS NOT GOING AS EXPERIENCED IN YOUR
CONTAINMENT TRAINING YOU SHOULD HIT THE 'TROUBLE BUTTON' AND RETREAT
UNTIL THE HOTSHOT CONTAINMENT TEAM CAN REACH YOU.
EVEN IN
EMERALD CITY FACILITIES ARE REPLACEABLE, YOU ARE NOT. BE SAFE, NOT
SORRY!
